The story revolves around Lucia Dol'Auclair, the heir to her family, who feels the weight of their high expectations. We have witches, vampires and werewolves all vying for the chance to win, a curse, a love story and tension and spice and “I’d give up everything for you” vibes.
I absolutely adored this duology and couldn't put it down. Following Lucia's journey is truly a ride—sometimes her struggles can be a bit frustrating, but watching her grow is one of the highlights of the book. I loved seeing her challenge her biases about werewolves and vampires while stepping into her own power. The character development here is fantastic!
Adelaide adds so much to the narrative. She pushes Lucia, she challenges her, and she encourages her. She is a true partner. I couldn't put this down. I read book one last year, but when I decided to pick up book two I knew I needed to reread book one and I'm glad I did because I picked up more with the second read.
